Curriculum Vitae of Jarrod Elvin

Experience:

Studio Moshi 2010-2011

Compositior/Editor for ‘Little Johnny: The Movie’ (2010)
Compositor/Editor for ‘Hell Catz’ Video game cut scenes (2011)

Compositor/Editor for Studio Moshi Animation Showreel (2011)

Compositor/Editor for The Cleveland Show: 'Dance Off' ad (2011)

I use Adobe After Effects to compose together all the elements to an animated scene, adding camera movements in 3D space. As well as adding many eye-catching visual effects including faked perspective, parallax and depth of field. Part of my job is to manage extensively large and ever-growing file systems that accumulate from my final After Effects output, as well as exporting the media I need from the source Flash projects.
I also create vibrant and often fast-paced promotional trailers, which I can output to a wide range of media including full-HD and iPhone standard.
Secondarily, I am film editor, using Adobe Premiere Pro to manage entire animated features from
animatic to final compositon stage. I can add music and sound effects and edit them thusly, as well as colour-correction for final export. I have also provided the video editorials for several promotional pieces for the studio.

Queensland Government Department of Education, Training and the Arts 2008

My duties included; concept design and storyboards for a short animated children's' educational Flash application. It was my job to design 6 animal characters, and 6 locations within an Egyptian setting. From there, I had to construct each character and locale in Flash, and animate them according to my storyboards, along to voice recordings provided to me. The clients and I liaised via email, where I would present my designs and finished footage.

Boymongoose Media 2007-2008

Boymongoose Media; Contracted to make full video clip for song 'Single Girls'
My duties included, storyboards for a full-length animated film clip, as well as 2D animation (in Flash) for the characters, and 3D animation (in 3D Studio MAX) for the environments, which were designed entirely by myself. I regularly met with the clients and presented my ideas and new footage, as well as discussing and pitching new ideas. I created the entire clip by myself from scratch, with minimal additional animation from 2 others.

Photon VFX 2007

3 Week Internship 'Oakies Outback Adventures'
My duties included; Editing in Premiere, Rendering from Maya, texturing, set design. Gathering finished rendered footage from the animation team, and editing them together in sequence using Adobe Premiere. I had to locate and record any 'faults' (such as missing frames, defects, mistakes) in the animation, and report them to the animators to fix up, to do it all again. I was the only one doing this job, and there were hundreds of animation faults. They had no one to do this job before I started, and I single-handedly streamlined their entire production process for several episodes of the series.

Charles Elena Design 2013

I used After Effects to composite a fast paced 2 minute corporate pitch video for Ticketmaster and Melbourne Olympic Parks. This included, integrating supplied video clips of their products and genres into a 3D landscape, with superimposed text and a camera moving to the music track. Also cutting up still photographs into layers in Photoshop to add parallax to the images which were included into the video.
